Another Week At University…

Busy week!!!

Whilst this week was busy, I don’t actually think I did much work unfortunately but that shouldn’t surprise anyone.

On Tuesday night I had to go back home to Manchester to get a blood test. Thankfully, my journey wasn’t the hell it normally is due to Northern rail. I went back to university on Wednesday. Thankfully I discovered that I am able to work quite well on trains so I don’t feel like I am completely wasting my time. However, I was tired when I got back to the house and did no work for the rest of the night.

I had my first actual seminar of the year and it was just as awkward as they used to be. I didn’t say anything because I had no idea what was going on. Seminars are the bane of my life at university.

In terms of exercise, me and Ceara thought we could run up a hill behind our house and then do exercise on top of it. However, we died half way up the hill, it really didn’t look as steep as it was! Will not be doing that again!

Saturday, I was quite productive work wise during the day time. In the evening our house went out for Indian food which was lovely. Then we called at our friends house party for her 20th birthday and ended up on a bar crawl. Plus, a guy in Tesco managed to flirt with both me and Ceara at the same time and we both fell for it. I don’t know how anyone can be that smooth but I will give him the credit, very smooth.

Busy week but not much work done, I should probably start taking second year seriously!!

Today, (Sunday) will probably consist of taking Instagram pics, working (hopefully) and making he girls (Ann and Ceara) fajitas.

The Outfit With Leopard Print.

I never thought I would wear leopard print again. This may be due to the scaring memory of my eight year old self who wore bright purple,  leopard print leggings. It actually makes me cringe thinking about the horrendous outfits I put together and my mother let me leave the house! My nine year old self swore, I would never wear leopard print again, yet here I am at nineteen betraying myself.

Leopard print has been in for most of 2018 and it has taken me this long to partake in the trend. This time it is more inline with my style and I feel a little more toned down!

I think this outfit is for those cool, casual events, for example I wore mine to a bar to watch a live band. Plus concerts or house parties, I also think this would be good for.

Outfit Of The Day…Kim Possible Inspired?

I didn’t intend on this outfit to be inspired by Kim Possible or The Hunger Games but I went with it.

This outfit was for a rainy and cold day of lectures and failed library sessions. Non constricting and warm.

I have put some more pictures of this outfit and some others on my Instagram: final_thought

Check out my last post- My First Week As A Second Year At University.

My First Week As A Second Year At University.

Honestly, the first two days were shit. This wasn’t due to any particular reason, it was just overwhelming to hear about essay deadlines and the fact I have seminars every week. I’m still not feeling that motivated to do any work and it’s not because I have no work, I think the prospect of all the work I have to do this term is overwhelming.

I have had one seminar so far, in which I found out I will have to do two presentations and the people in my group had already started reading!! Why do people do reading before hand? How do they know what the topic is about?

As usual though, the non work side of uni I really enjoyed. I went out on Tuesday because I was already done with the week. On Wednesday I went to my friends house for dinner and on Thursday I went to a rugby taster session and to my surprise I actually enjoyed it. I was shocking at catching the ball but I was lifted into the air (and panicked) but it was fun.

Friday night, I think I’m going to have noodles for dinner and potentially go out, not for too late though as I have actual seminars next week where reading has to be done.

On Saturday, we are have a house party for our college kids, hopefully that will be fun and I’m sure Sunday will be a recovery day.

Photoshoot With My Friend- My New Project On Instagram.

Photoshoot With My Friend- My New Project On Instagram.

On Monday I start my second year at university studying History and to be honest I am really bored of it. I’m not remotely interested in history anymore and I find the city where I study uninspiring. I decided to gain a new side project on Instagram. I have made a new account called final_thought where I essentially style my friends and make them pose.

I hope this will be a fun project on the side and I would love it if you could check it out!

Here are two of the outfits I have photographed already.

Super Easy Halloween Costume Ideas.

While I may not be American, I am one of those British people who buys into Halloween. I think its because autumn is my favourite time of year and I love anything scary and gothic. I always put in a lot of effort for Halloween but I thought I would give some easy costume ideas, perfect for students at uni to wear to house parties or to clubs.

  1. A Scarecrow.

     2. A Clown.

  3. Nancy from Stranger Things.

  4. A broken doll.

    5. A gypsy.

6. Day of the Dead.

7. A Mermaid.

8. Mary Poppins.

9. Miss Piggy.

I think this year I will go as a clown and buy a brightly coloured skirt and crop top as I am just going to a house party on Halloween night.

Honest Review Of The Maybelline SuperStay 24h Foundation.

As someone who unfortunately has oily skin and acne prone skin, this foundation should theoretically be perfect for me. I wanted to give the foundation a trial for a while before I reviewed it, hence, this review is a little bit late.

Firstly, this foundation is advertised as full coverage, matte and long lasting. It is available in 12 shades and retails at £9.99.

As this foundation is full coverage, I picked it up in the shade ‘sand’ to match my fake tan. I don’t personally like wearing full coverage on a daily basis so I wanted to make it my going out foundation.

I first wore it to a house party in which I applied it at 6am and DID NOT REAPPLY! Granted, I had to powder throughout the day but the actual foundation coverage didn’t deplete too much.

I thought it applied well with a beauty blender and makeup applied easily on top.

Overall I would definitely recommend this foundation as a drugstore alternative for a going out, high coverage foundation if you do not have oily skin.

On the other hand, I think the matte claim is inaccurate. I had to keep applying powder and I know I have oily skin so I am used to it but I think more high end foundations do stay matte for longer. But as a drugstore alternative at least it lasts longer than others.

An Honest Review Of The Noir Couture Mascara From GIVENCHY.

I recently received a sample of the Noir Couture mascara from GIVENCY from Glamour and wanted to give my review on this blog as well as in their survey.

Personally, I like the mascara, my eyelashes are naturally long but it does give them a lift and makes them actually darker and longer. The wand on the brush is nice and thin with a slight dip in the middle. It makes it really easy to get into the inner corners of the eyes and coat all the lashes.

givenchymascara

In terms of the formula, it stays on all day and doesn’t smudge which makes it perfect for the bottom lashes. However, this obviously means it is rather hard and annoying to remove.

Plus the mascara doesn’t give me spider eyelashes that clump together loads and look really dry. I haven’t felt the need to top up my mascara at all throughout the day which is amazing.

However, whilst I can’t find anything wrong with the mascara, I can’t help but think of the price. Personally I think a lot of drugstore mascaras are just as good as this one, for example the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, is just as good and only £8. This mascara retails for £26.

Overall, I do like the mascara but I wouldn’t purchase a full sized one due to the cheaper alternatives.

My Sneaker Collection 2018.

This is my current sneaker/trainers (basically flat shoes) collection. I go to a uni surrounded by hills and cobbled streets so I only wear flats and I get so much wear out of all these shoes so I don’t mind investing a bit more money in them. Hope you enjoy!
